Metallic Bellows

Metallic bellows are available from Sudbury International Engineered Products Limited, a privately-owned Canadian manufacturing company.  The bellows we produce are used in a variety of industries and applications ranging from mechanical seals for pumps to expansion joints for steam piping. Metallic bellows are available in three main varieties: welded, formed, and electroformed. Each of these types offers its own advantages. We also have experience manufacturing rubber bellows, fabric expansion joins, and a variety of related products.  Our company has been in operation for more than 40 years.

Metallic bellows

Here is some information on the various types of metallic bellows. Formed bellows are typically made by deep drawing, including processes such as cold forming and hydroforming. Welded models are made by welding several formed diaphragms together. Electroformed bellows are made by plating and then removing a mandrel. Welded bellows offer a low tooling cost and high performance, while electroformed bellows are ideal for applications that require high precision or thin-walled construction.

Bellows can be constructed using a variety of materials. While formed models need to be made from alloys with good elongation, welded models can be made from a wider range exotic metals and alloys. Contact us for information on our manufacturing capabilities.
