Our wide range of security solutions at Capitol Industries Inc. includes more than standard cam locks and padlocks. Another line we carry is magnetic cylinder shields. The Sentinel series of cylinder and latch shields offers protection for most cylinders used in aluminum narrow stile storefronts or cam locks. These devices are popular for protection against vandalism, picking, drilling, extreme weather, and unauthorized key use.

These cylinder and latch shields fit most standard cylinders. Each comes with a unique magnetic key, coded to one of more than 10,000 key codes and used to unlock the cover and slide it to grant access to the cylinder. Other features of our magnetic cylinder shields include corrosion resistance, drill resistance, and fully mechanical operation with no batteries.

We produce three models of magnetic cylinder shields. The M-1000 has an anodized aluminum body measuring 5.2 by 1.5 inches and 0.62 of an inch in thickness; it goes up to 7.45 inches long when extended. It protects any standard lock cylinder from picking, bumping, drilling, freezing, vandalism, and contamination, and it can be keyed alike to any magnetic product from the Capitol line. Relevant applications include remote facilities, after-hours lockout, basic access control, storefronts, maintenance rooms, and construction sites.

The M-2000 magnetic cam-lock shield is intended only for cam-lock applications. It measures 3.6 inches in length, 1¼ inches in width, ½ an inch in thickness, and 5.1 inches long when extended. Applications the M-2000 suits include filing/medicine cabinets, control boxes and panels, gun safes, and dual-key control tasks. It protects against vandalism, bumping, picking, contamination, and unauthorized access. This shield fits most cam locks and can be keyed alike or different, installed on wood or metal, and finished to match furniture hardware.

Finally, the M-7000 magnetic cylinder shield and latch protector has an integrated latch guard and is made only for out-swing doors. We recommend it for remote facilities, after-hours lockout, basic access control, storefronts, and maintenance rooms. It measures 6¾ by 3½ by 0.63 inches, or 9.85 inches long when extended.
