Two of the reasons for our widespread reputation are our diversity of cam locks – which makes up approximately 80 per cent of our current product line – and our innovative magnetic technology, MagSecur. Our customers get the best of both these groups with our line of magnetic cam locks, which offers a wide range of benefits to users.

Our cam locks are latches, each of which comprises a cylinder and cam. The user inserts a key or tool in the lock to rotate the cam, which conducts the latching function. Among this product line is a magnetic model that employs Capitol’s own patented MagSecur technology, a modular platform for creating customized and proprietary magnetic locking solutions without the vulnerabilities of traditional keyed locks.

These discreet magnetic cam locks have more than 1,500 magnetic combinations and cannot be picked or bumped. They can be retrofitted from any standard cam lock, and the keys cannot be copied. They are perfect for outdoor applications and also resist glue, dirt, and other contaminants. Nickel finishes are standard, and barrel lengths run from 5/8″ to 1-3/8″. Available cam lengths go from ¾” to 2-3/8″, while cam inset/offset range from -½” to ½”. Locks can be keyed alike or different.

Other major benefits of Capitol magnetic cam locks: they are weatherproof and are not susceptible to all known surreptitious entry techniques, including the use of three-dimensional scanning and printing to create bump keys. In addition, Magnetic Cam Lock keys cannot be copied duplicated. Trained technicians or locksmiths can build new keys from scratch, starting with a key code and a keying kit, in about two to three minutes. Without the key code, locks are safe from unauthorized keys.
