Johnston Industrial Plastics provides quality hot air welding tools for use on Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and other types of thermoplastic materials. Founded in 1942, we are the oldest Canadian distributor of plastic shapes.

We distribute a wide range of products from U.S. manufacturers Leister Technologies and Wegener Welding, who themselves have been in business for decades, and have been doing so for over 35 years.

Product Lines

Our catalogue of hot air welding tools includes automatic hot air welding machines for foil and overlap welding; extrusion welders for creating strong welds on thicker materials with one seam; and hot air blowers for warming, shrinking, drying, soldering and de-soldering, and sterilizing. We also carry accessories, such as tracking jets, reflector nozzles, and welding mirrors.

The Weldmax from Leister offers independent adjustments of temperatures and output rates, protection for motor start-up, and includes a welding rod intake that will not twist. At 443 x 94 x 225 mm and weighing 3.8 kg, the Weldmax is versatile, quiet, and works well in small or confined spaces.

The Exweld Alpha from Wegener lives up to its name, providing an exceptional extrusion weld with its electronically controlled drive motor and dual channel temperature controller to prevent the tool from being damaged by cold starts.
