The Brand Felt of Canada Ltd. designs and manufactures a wide variety of felt.

SAE Felt

Made primarily from wool, SAE felt is available in more than ten grades with varying densities and durability. It is used for oil retention, vibration mountings, sound deadening, padding, and other industrial applications.

Designer Felt

Made from pressed and carbonized wool, designer felt is durable, water-resistant, sound-deadening, and has a fabric-like finish. It is available in a wide selection of colours and thicknesses.

Craft Felt

For crafting, sewing, and decorating projects, we offer various types of craft felt as well as 100% virgin wool felt, which is an eco-friendly product. They are available in an assortment of colours. Custom colours can also be produced upon request.

Felt Wheels & Sheets

We manufacture felt wheels and sheets for polishing materials. They are available in several sizes and densities, and can also be custom ordered. They can be used for metal and glass polishing, buffing, sanding, and as vibration pads, spacers, and more.

The Brand Felt of Canada Ltd. Manufacturing Process

We manufacture our wool felt on site, using mainly the wet process method in which fibres are mixed, carded, felted, fulled, and finished. In order to achieve higher densities in industrial felt, we apply additional pressure during the fulling stage. Fulling consists of rollers working the felt until it reaches the desired density.

For some custom felt, made of either synthetic fibres or a mixture of wool and synthetic fibres, we often use the repetitive needle punching method. This creates felt with similar density levels as pressed felt but with varying weight factors and finishes.
