Northern Industrial Supply Co. (NISCO) supplies a range of fabric expansion joints designed for severe duty applications. They engineered to meet the needs of today’s complex ducting systems for air, gas, and media. These fabric joints are used in a wide range of industrial markets including marine, refining, petrochemical, power generation, pulp & paper, and more. These expansion joints are made using specially designed composite belts and manufacturing techniques.  As a result, they can solve issues related to condensation, large movements, and media accumulation. In addition, these joints help reduce the chance of failure, lessen noise and vibration, and increase efficiency.

Fabric expansion joints

The 400-LT joints are designed for wet or dry service up to 400 degrees F and 5 psig. They are made from Viton rubber and reinforced with single or multiple layers of woven fabric. Kitted wire reinforcement is also available. They are used for applications such as precipitators, baghouses, induced draft fans, air heater gas outlets, and stack breeching ducts. In the event of heater failure, they can handle temperatures up to 750 degrees F for short durations.

The 500-HT expansion joints are used for SCR inlets, secondary air, economizer outlets, and other applications involving hot flue gas. They are suitable for temperatures up to 1000 degrees F when used with an insulation pillow. These joints are constructed from multiple layers that are adapted to temperature requirements. They include a gas seal, insulation, woven fabric, and are available with knitted wire reinforcement.

The 1200-HTG is designed specifically for applications with temperatures above 1000 degrees C as well as hot spots, large movements, heavy cycling, and radial growth. These joints offer long service life, simple installation, low external temperatures, and noise reduction. They are often used for applications such as GT exhausts and HRSG inlets.
