Drop Forgings
Ken Forging Inc. makes drop forgings that feature exceptional quality and many options for sizes, materials, and finishes. Our selection of standard items includes a variety of industrial hardware such as clamps, eye bolts, and turn buckles. Most orders can be ready for shipping same-day so they can be promptly delivered to your site. Custom forgings are also available with fast turnarounds to meet your special requirements. We have the capability to offer forgings up to a maximum of 250 Lbs. Our products undergo thorough inspections including 200 per cent proof-load tests and magnetic particle inspections.
Drop forgings
Drop forging involves using the force of dropped weight to form the workpiece based on the shape of the die. We can perform both open die and closed die drop forging. In open die forging, the dies do not fully enclose the workpiece, so the process requires additional positioning and orienting by an operator. This method of forging can offer superior strength, improved microstructure, and better resistance to fatigue.
The materials we use most often include stainless steel 304 and 316, carbon steels C1018 through 1045, and alloy steels 4140, F11, and F22. We can apply various finishes to our forgings such as hot dipped, galvanized, and polished. Additional options are available for custom plating and special heat treatments.

Our process
Our fully equipped manufacturing plant spans 250,000 sq. ft. It includes a 12,000 square foot packing and shipping area, and the capability to perform a full range of in-house operations. We are committed to ensuring all our products are of the highest quality, so we offer complete traceability and lot control.
