Double pitch conveyor sprockets
Double pitch conveyor chains are the ideal choice for simple conveyance applications where product positioning is important and accumulation is to be avoided. As a result, they are used in all types of manufacturing applications. Sprockets for double pitch conveyor chains have to be precisely manufactured to achieve accurate positioning and conveyance.
Double pitch sprockets must also be used for sprockets with 30 teeth or less. That’s because the pressure angle is different from standard single pitch sprockets.
It’s essential to use the right sprockets. If single pitch sprockets are used with double pitch chain, the rollers will not seat properly as they engage higher on the sprocket tooth. This will result in premature wear of the chain and sprocket and may cause the chain to "jump" teeth, producing shock and vibration that could damage the whole machine.
