Displacement Transducers

Linear variable differential transformers (LVDT), also known as linear variable displacement transducers, are used to measure linear displacement. This type of transducer features a sliding core that is fiction-free because it does not touch the inside of the tube. The design provides high reliability. Because there are no sliding or rotating contacts, LVDTs can be completely sealed. They are often used in servomechanisms for position feedback as well as automated measurement for machine tools, and various industrial and scientific applications.  Some of the different types available include hermetically sealed, subminiature, high temperature, general purpose, and nuclear radiation resistant.

Displacement transducers

We can offer transducers that feature easy installation such as the AF111 LVDT. It has a threaded and unguided core assembly that makes installation simple. In addition, the transducer coil has been designed for high accuracy and reduced overall length.

Hermetically sealed LVDTs are available such as the HCD series. These transducers will not be affected by dirt, water, steam, and most corrosives. They are sealed using TIG welding procedures that leave no oxidation-producing faults that can cause leaks. They are ideal for many high-pressure applications and are suited to pressures up to 1000 psi.

Subminiature LVDTs are available including the XS-C series. These displacement sensors are perfect for measurement and control applications in pressure-sealed chambers. Some examples include hydraulic actuators and pressure vessels that permit bulkhead mounting. These sealed and heavy-walled LVDTs are suitable for operating pressures up to 3000 psi and proof pressures up to 4500 psi.
