DIN Connectors

Valves, pumps, and gear motors: this is a primary reason why customers continue to trust ODE Valve Canada after 60 years of high-quality industrial supplies. We also manufacture and provide accessories to go with our main wares. A key example is three kinds of DIN connectors. These units enable electrical connection to ODE solenoid valves. Each connector plugs onto the spades of the coil, and a profile gasket ensures a NEMA 4 watertight connection.

DIN connectors are electrical connectors that were originally standardized by the Deutsches Institut für Normung, or the DIN, nearly 50 years ago in Germany. Different connectors have varying DIN standards; some may be circular connectors for audio or digital signals, while some manufacturers made rectangular options for connecting plug-in cards to back planes or motherboards. Each device has an architecture composed of multiple pins within a protective circular sheath. This design allows electrical connection in a broad range of applications, including use with pneumatic, hydraulic, or electromagnetic devices, such as solenoid valves.

ODE can supply three models of DIN connectors from its portfolio: cable grip connectors, conduit connectors, and six-foot power cord connectors. Our CAGDIN/01 cable grip connector has a full length of 1-3/16 inches, a full width of 27/32 of an inch, and a full height of 1-1/8 inches. The CONDIN/02 is a ½-inch conduit connector that measures 1-5/8 inches in full height and 1-1/16 inches in full length, and the large end accommodates connections of 18 millimetres in diameter. This large end also measures 1-3/32 inches in height. Finally, we also offer the unique PCC6FT/03 six-foot power cord connector, with a three-pronged wall plug wired to the main connector. The latter two models are designed for solenoid valves.

In addition to these DIN solutions, our parent company in Italy manufactures two types of electrical connectors. Both of them meet the IP65 and IP67 safety standards; one of them is an ATEX-certified, explosion-proof unit for hazardous environments, while the other has no certifications.
