Desk Locks

We supply locking solutions for many industrial applications at Capitol Industries Inc. Our wide-ranging inventory includes a selection of desk locks. Four models of these locks are available, with optional removable cores. Essential for home or office use, these locks are compatible with wooden or steel desks and are designed according to our company’s high standards for quality.

Desks are not merely convenient places to work or use computers for leisure; some also have drawers that enable users to store confidential or valuable items securely. In offices, managers are known to keep important records, files, and other documents locked into desks to protect them from theft, burglary, snooping and spying, or other unforeseen events. They are even useful for employee’s personal storage, to discourage and prevent theft of personal items from other workers. With a suitable, effective desk lock, any office manager can rest assured that confidential information can remain that way – and focus on his or her current tasks.

Capitol’s portfolio includes a standard line of desk locks (974-14) and one design with a removable core (975-14). We also offer an optional shell clip, provided that the customer specifies the thickness of the drawer or door.

A nickel finish is standard for our desk locks, but other options are available on request. Numbering is key black standard, with plug upon request. Keying options include the following:

  • N54G brass milled key;
  • up to 200 combinations;
  • five brass disc tumblers;
  • keyed alike;
  • keyed different; and
  • master keyed.

The keying section of each of these desk locks measures 22 millimetres (mm) in diameter, while the back section measures 19 by 16 mm. The locking tab is 21 mm wide and 15 mm high, stretching an additional six mm when locked.
