In this feature, we will uncover some of the unique capabilities of our torque dampers.

UDH Series: Torque Dampers

The UDH barrel torque damper series, also known as “Universal Damper Hinge”, is NSF-certified and has a stainless steel body, making it suitable for corrosive environments and food production facilities. The UDH torque dampers have soft closing capabilities in both the clockwise and counterclockwise directions with a wide opening angle of 125 degrees. Their compact design allows for easy integration of soft closing in your lids; you can often find these dampers hidden in toilet-seat covers to prevent them from slamming shut.

HG-JH Series: Dampening Hinges with UDH

The HG-JH series contains soft close dampening hinges that serve as casings to the UDH torque dampers integrated within them. The casings are made of plastic with dark grey finish; however, a stainless-steel casing, HG-JH14-50, is also available. Both models are sold in pairs and have removable caps. These hinges are surface-mounted, have a soft-motion operating angle of 115 degrees, and good temperature stability of 0-40 degrees Celsius. UDD Series: Disk Dampers

The UDD disk damper, also known as “Universal Disk Damper”, is part of our rotating control hardware that is adaptable for wood or glass and is commonly used in dome-shaped lid applications. The UDD features a smart design without any arms, creating a slim profile for an unobtrusive installation. This disk damper is NSF-certified and has passed 30,000 open/close private cycle testing for maximum durability, making it suitable for use in food production facilities. For flat lids, the bracket UDD-BKT is available for side cabinet installation.
