Among the many locking solutions we supply at Capitol Industries Inc. is a series of cylinder protectors. These are devices designed to protect against cylinder wrenching and tampering. Made of anodized aluminum, Capitol’s CI series offers high corrosion resistance and does not cause galvanic corrosion between door leaves and plates. Mounting hardware is included with every product, and all CI devices come with free engraving for orders of 20 units or more.

Capitol manufactures five different models of cylinder protectors in the CI series. Features and benefits of all of these units include fast and easy installation, rounded corners to resist prying, protection against wrenching, and clear or black finishes. These units fit all standard cylinders too.

The CI-10 cylinder protector measures four by 1¾ inches, with a ½-inch thickness, and can be used for in-swing doors. It comes with four rivets and two spacers, and the standard design has a brushed finish, although other finish options are available on request. Capitol also produces the CI-10XT model, specifically designed for use with seven-pin IC core cylinders, which has the same width and length, but a ¾-inch thickness. With this version, the cylinder is mounted flush (or recessed) with the protector, and installation is simple and quick. All necessary hardware is included with the CI-10XT, which resists wrenching in a discreet and aesthetically attractive way and is designed to fit on seven-pin IC core cylinders.

The CI-30 cylinder and latch protector has the back side cut out for electric-strike clearance. This device measures 6¾ inches in length, 3½ inches in width, and ½ an inch in thickness. The CIA-30, with the same measurements as the CI-30, provides additional clearance; both models are available handed, for use on out-swing doors only. The CI-30XT has a thickness of ¾ of an inch for the longer seven-pin cylinders.
