Custom Gears
Custom gears of all types are available from Rapid Gear. We offer design and engineering services to develop custom solutions, and machining capabilities to build gears for any requirement. In addition to custom gearing, we can provide rebuilds, maintenance and replacement for gearboxes and related machinery. Rapid Gear has over 40 years’ experience in the design and building of gears and power transmission components. Our company is ISO 2001:2008 certified, has been a member of AGMA since 1988, and is AODA compliant. We serve a diverse customer base, ranging from small business to international companies. Our expertise enables us to fulfill all of their unique requirements.
Custom gears
Custom gearing is our specialty. Some of the types of gears we have experience with include spur, worm, bevel, internal, sprocket, double helical, and herringbone. Our machine shop is equipped with a range of advanced equipment. This equipment enables us to machine components of all sizes. For instance, we have gear cutting capabilities for pitch diameters up to 197 inches.
We also use C.N.C lathes with capacities up to 36 inches in diameter and 156 inches in length, and vertical boring mills capable of boring up to 129-inch diameters and 75-inch heights. Our slotting machines can accommodate up to 108-inch diameters and 25-inch strokes, and we have lifting capabilities up to 30 tons.

Rapid Gear can handle all types of projects, whether it’s the custom design and machining of a single gear, or the rebuilding of a gear box when replacement parts are not available. In addition, we can take on jobs of any scope, from single units to production runs. Our company has been in operation since 1976, and has been a member of the AGMA since 1988.
