A diverse selection of bearing temperature sensors is available from Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. The many different types of sensor products available include RTD and thermocouple bearing probes, sensor accessories, standard sensor assemblies, and miniature bearing embedment RTDs and thermocouples. They are supplied by the renowned manufacturers such as Minco. In addition, we supply a complete range of sensors, thermostats, and controls for bearing protection. These products can be used to monitor and protect equipment including engines, turbines, generators, electric motors, pumps, and compressors.

Bearing temperature sensors

We offer RTD and thermocouple bearing probes in many varieties. They include probes with stainless steel and fiberglass sheaths, single and dual elements, and tip sensitive and bayonet mount styles. For instance, our tip-sensitive bearing probes offer a fast-responding copper tip and are rated for temperatures of -50 to 260 degrees C (-58 to 500 degrees F). The options for probe diameters include 0.188 inch, 0.215 inch, and 0.250 inch. Many of these probe models can be cut to length using a tubing cutter. This option enables bearing probe lengths to be easily adjusted in the field.

Some of the accessories available for these probes include a range of fittings such as compression, spring-loaded, metric, extension, and fluid immersion types. We can offer various options for thermowells including economy, reduced tip, tapered and flanged types. Also available is a variety of connection heads including aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and plastic varieties. Alternatively, we can supply standard probe assemblies to suit a variety of bearings.

In addition, we can supply miniature bearing embedment temperature sensors. These small and rugged sensors are designed to be installed in babbited bearings to provide early warning of overheating. They are available with Teflon, Polyimide or stainless steel overbraid lead wires.
