However, when cooler air reaches the device, it opens to allow the air to pass through, ensuring your steam remains free of harmful materials. Floaters replace thermostatic devices in hydronic applications. They block vent openings when water rises to the top of the vent, ensuring water does not leak while letting the air out effectively.
