Air Blow Off Devices

Vibra Finish Ltd. offers air blow off devices that can perform a variety of surface finishing techniques. From strengthening your parts to giving them smooth, textured surfaces, our methods have multiple applications to suit your needs. Our expert staff can help determine the right procedure for you, and we have the equipment and capabilities to carry out your chosen methods quickly and safely.

Three types of finishing

We have three air pressure-based methods for removing excess material from your parts. Abrasive finishing, shot blasting and shot peening each offer unique benefits to your part.

With abrasive finishing, we use an air pressure gun to launch abrasive particle such as aluminum oxide, steel shot or corn cob grit at a product’s surface. The angle, velocity, particle substance and more affect how the surface’s finish is treated. This process is great for cleaning, descaling, deburring and more.

We also use air pressure devices in shot blasting, which propels steel shot or other round media at a surface to create a clean, smooth surface. It helps to prepare parts for coating or painting while helping to even out inconsistencies and remove harmful material.

Finally, shot peening shoots steel, ceramic and glass media at objects using air pressure to remove a surface layer of material. This creates indentations that cause particles in the metal to push outwards, creating a new layer that is stronger, more durable and chemically cleaned.

Many different uses

Each of our air blowing procedures offer different applications. Abrasive finishing is often used in lieu of sanding or brushing, while shot blasting is done to allow for painting. Shot peening, meanwhile, is generally used to strengthen a product for industrial purposes. As a result, each of these practices are useful in manufacturing parts, and are often used in the automotive, transportation and aerospace industries, among others.
