The Cordis CP1 dynamic pressure controller

Wainbee Limited is the top Canadian source for products by Clippard, which has just launched the Cordis CP1 dynamic pressure controller. This new single-valve electronic controller is a compact, cost-efficient solution for scenarios in which a proportional valve is specified to maintain pressure or flow in a closed-loop application.

Users can achieve superior results in such dynamic applications as control of carrier gases, blanketing gases, cutting gases, dynamic dispensing, and critical polishing with the CP1.

Steady, accurate downstream pressure control

By blending a sensor with a single proportional valve that has closed-loop capabilities, the CP1 eliminates the requirement for additional programming, specifying sensors, and choosing a separate proportional valve. Like all of the Cordis product family, this dynamic pressure controller offers phenomenal high resolution, high accuracy, and repeatability. It uses the proven Clippard EVP and DVP proportional valves to enable steady, accurate, and repeatable downstream pressure control as demands or processes change. This results in extremely exacting, linear pressure control within a closed-loop system, with ultra-high resolution and repeatability.

Recommended for clean, dry, non-corrosive gases, the CP1 device consists of a microcontroller, an internal pressure sensor, and a Clippard proportional valve. The inlet valve is connected to the moderately regulated supply pressure; when the user increases a command, the proportional valve opens up to allow supply pressure to pass over the sensor element, which provides an active feedback for the microcontroller to satisfy the set point in the process. If the sensor detects a value higher than the set point at any moment in the process, the proportional valve closes and allows the process to consume the remaining downstream pressure. Other features and advantages of this Clippard unit supplied by Wainbee:

  • smooth linear control;
  • integrated internal feedback;
  • multiple flow configurations;
  • dynamic proportional pressure control;
  • non-pulsing proportional fill;
  • customizable pressure ranges and mounting options;
  • compatibility with multiple inert gases; and
  • customizable calibrated ranges.
