EXAIR Corporation has mastered the art of static elimination in manufacturing production with its anti-static air knives. The latest and most innovative of these units is the Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife. Not only does this product offer 30 per cent better performance than previous models have, with its new design features; it also meets the strict requirements of several international health and safety standards.

Saving compressed air and money

By eliminating static electricity 30 per cent more effectively at low inlet pressures, the Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife helps businesses save both compressed air and money, while dramatically improving production speed, product quality, and surface cleanliness. This unit eliminates static on plastics, webs, sheet stock, and other product surfaces on which tearing, jamming, or dangerous shocks are a potential issue. Other relevant applications include surface cleaning, neutralizing plastics, opening bags, printing machinery, packaging operations, and eliminating painful static shock.

This new design includes a metal armoured high-voltage cable to prevent abrasion and cuts, as well as integrated ground connection and electromagnetic shielding. In addition, EXAIR has conducted independent laboratory tests on the Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife to make sure it complies with the stringent safety, health, and environmental standards of UL in the United States, CE and RoHS in Europe, and CSA Group in Canada.

Like the EXAIR Standard Air Knife, the new Gen4 Standard Ion Air Knife minimizes compressed-air use by inducing surrounding airflow at a ratio of 30 to one. By carrying the ions to the target, the unique amplified airflow enables elimination of static charges in less than half a second, and users have infinite control over air volume and velocity, ranging from breeze to blast, to wipe away debris gently or blow it away with force. The electrical ion source is shockless, and there is no radioactive element. EXAIR has developed a new selectable voltage power supply to operate this knife and other Gen4 products.
