The Anver Vacuum Tube Lifter, from ELS

When workers in factories and other industrial environments need to move heavy materials, they turn to Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment (ELS) to do it efficiently and safely. Among the solutions that ELS provides are its vacuum tube lifters and jib cranes, which offer convenient, ergonomically safe service.

Recently, both types of equipment came in handy at a workplace that had received shipments of stacked sinks.

A tough and risky job

The workers needed to unpack the sinks, which required manual lifting. The sinks were stacked too high for any employee to reach and so heavy, they were extremely difficult to lift and separate.

The job required two of the workers to inspect the sinks and then move into individual boxes. The employees then needed to manually palletize the boxes, a process that involved lifting the boxes overhead. A poor approach to the task could have resulted in fatigue, injury, and/or inefficiency.

ELS assessed the situation and determined the best approach was to install a Gorbel WSJ360 Work Station Jib Crane and an Anver Vacuum Tube Lifter with an extended handle.

The attachment for the vacuum tube lifter was used to lift both the sinks and the boxes. This way, only one employee was necessary to handle the boxes and sinks. Not only did this prove to be a quick and efficient way to do the task, but there were no ergonomic or health and safety issues as a result. The company achieved the best outcome with ELS’s help.

A leading manufacturer of vacuum material-handling equipment in Canada and the United States, Anver makes ergonomic lifting systems for use in high production. These products require minimal operator training, and vacuum pads can be attached to lift objects without damaging the surfaces or edges of products.
